This technique is effective and applicable to images taken with gray backgrounds. Here's how it works, since overlay is a blend mode which deletes everything which is 50 percent gray if we place the new background just about the subject layer (taken in gray background) and we change the blend mode of the new background to overlay, all the gray will be removed and those gray will be filled up by the gray background of the subject layer and rest will be left out, hence giving you a nice edge, especially for hair.

Then, we'll be a little manual soft masking to refine the selection and curves to match the subject to the new background.

A Powerful Way to Change Background in Photoshop by Using Blend Modes

Learn how to change background efficiently and easily by just using blend modes in Photoshop, without having to make any difficult selections. Whether it is hair or fur, extracting the subject is no problem using this method, given that the subject is shot on a gray background. Also, later in the tutorial, we'll learn some amazing lighting techniques to add more drama to your image.

In this video, we'll first understand the basic concepts of blend modes working in out favor in removing the background. Then, we'll learn how to actually change or replace the background automatically by using those blend modes and then refine the selections.

Once the new background and the subject are in place, we will adjust the lighting and the colors to match both the elements. Lastly, we are going to learn some cool cross processing/color grading tricks by utilizing one of the most underutilized adjustment layers in a creative fashion.

Noise Reduction in Photoshop CC

Best Way to Reduce Noise in Photoshop CC. In this video, we'll perform Advanced Noise Reduction using the best Photoshop noise reduction plugin: Dfine 2, a part of Nik Collection by Google. We will approach getting rid of noise manually by using several noise samples from or image for accurate and personalized noise reduction.

►DOWNLOAD NIK COLLECTION HERE: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

Dfine 2 is not only FREE but also the best plugin to reduce noise in Photoshop CC. Although there is a way to remove noise in one click automatically, we will use the manual method where we pick noise samples from around the image and use it to analyze the different patterns of noise. This plugin is compatible with most later versions of Photoshop. In this video, I'm using Adobe Photoshop CC 2017.

Noise is mostly caused when the ISO is very high or the sensor of the camera is not good enough to handle higher ISOs. This kind of noise has a particular pattern and sometimes the patterns differ from area to area. It is evident that one kind of filter or effect will not remove the noise effectively and therefore the need to analyze several patterns. Though the best way is to get it right in the camera and avoid shooting at higher ISO, high ISO noise reduction is possible in this method.

Fixing noise in photoshop or any other program always has a major drawback. It makes images look smoother and they lose sharpness and details. In this video, we'll also cover how to get over that issue and reduce noise without compromising with sharpness. To begin with mak sure you download the noise removal plugin "Dfine 2" which automatically installs as a part of "Nik Collection".

The Most Natural Way to Increase Saturation and Enhance Color in Photoshop

Make the Colors Pop Naturally in Seconds! Using selective color adjustment layer in Photoshop, we are going to increase saturation without any color banding or the colors clipping.

► DOWNLOAD THE PRESET: https://goo.gl/zKlVNO

Usually, if we have to enhance the colors, we simply tend to increase the saturation slider in Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer. However, as you might have observed, it starts looking a little fake, besides, the colors begin to oversaturate and the pixels really start showing up. For instance, you might have observed lines in the sky show up, which is also called color banding. In this tutorial, we will unleash the power of "Selective Color Adjustment Layer" to not only increase the saturation naturally but also have much more control and flexibility on how the colors are being accentuated. Say, you love increasing the saturation, but you hate what it does to the reds in the images, using Selective Color, you can control that very easily. By the way, you don't have to fiddle with all the sliders and not get overwhelmed by the complexity of selective color when you look at it the first time. Trust, once you understand it, it will become really simple and handy.

Also, make sure you download the preset for selective color and load it by clicking on the options (the little grid thing) in the Selective Color Adjustment Layer Panel. This preset will instantly increase saturation and if you think the saturation is too much and want to reduce it, just use the opacity slider.

Later in the tutorial, we will combine the Power of Selective Color with Black and White Adjustment Layer to also have the ability to control the luminosity or brightness of each color separately along with the saturation. Sounds strange? Watch to find out how!
